Dr. Michael Kessler and Dr. Kevin Monteleone have safely performed tens of thousands of surgeries over four decades of combined practice. Both surgeons are Board Certified members of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Training
Dr. Kessler and Dr. Monteleone have completed rigorous training to bring you the highest level of expertise. This important distinction represents a commitment and dedication beyond lengthy and demanding surgical residency training.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons complete at least 13 years of post-high school education and training.
After receiving their Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are required to receive hospital based, formal post graduate training in Surgical Critical Care, Cardiology, Pulmonology, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastic Surgery as well as extensive training in Anesthesia and Facial Trauma.
Services
Both surgeons received intensive training at Level One Trauma Centers, the centers that treat the most serious and complex trauma patients. Both doctors are trained in Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Dr. Monteleone and Dr. Kessler practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and all associated bone grafting, general anesthesia, wisdom tooth removal, tumor and cyst treatment, biopsies and jaw fracture treatment using the industry’s most advanced equipment.

Team
Our caring surgical staff at South Tampa Oral and Dental Implant Surgery is experienced and trained to assist with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting.
Each surgical assistant is certified in basic life support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator use (AED) and maxillofacial radiology.You will be continuously monitored during and after surgery.
South Tampa Oral and Dental Implant Surgery has a dedicated sterilization technician. We test our equipment using a state of the art MidMark 11 Autoclave to ensure optimal safety.
